4th Annual YAC Submission Count as of August 5

Hello, young artists and supporters of YAC!  We are down to the last 10 days before the submission deadline for this year's contest.

Here's the current submission count as of today.

Category 1 -- 13
Category 2 -- 29
Category 3 -- 69

Total -- 111

And here's a few things to repeat from the last blog update.

1. After you submit your entries, please check back to make sure they are showing up in the correct age category folder for the contest.  There have been mistakes (mainly, forgetting to select the category folder from the drop-down menu when first submitting  to YAC group) so far from multiple contestants on this regard.  If you find your submissions to be in the wrong age category, make sure to send a note to aruarian-dancer to have them moved to the correct category.

2. Prize update link has been provided from one of the sponsors, celticwren.  Check it out here.

3. Remember, you don't have to make a brand new entry for this contest.  We accept old works.  Just make sure to submit to the age category based on YOUR age as of Aug. 15, 2012, NOT when the artwork was made.

4. Also keep in mind that presentation is 10% of your total score.  So submit the best possible photo or scan of your artwork.  Crop whenever necessary to remove extra objects (anything other than what is in your original artwork).  Minimum editing (i.e. adjusting for fade correction, color saturation, color temperature, etc.) is necessary and allowed.  

5. For photo-realistic portraiture, make sure to include link(s) to your reference(s) in the "artist's comment" (description) of the deviation.   Links need to be the direct to the specific images, not to the homepage of a dA artist or a stock photo site's landing page.
